Moving a Drive File or Folder
Files can be moved from one folder another in two ways. Follow the instructions below to move files.
- Use the Drag-and-Drop method.
2. Right click on the file you wish to move. A context menu will appear.
a. Click Move to. A list of all files and folder will appear.
b. Select the folder to which you wish to move the file.
c. Click Move.
Sharing a Drive File or Folder
- Right click on the file or folder you want to share. A context menu will open.
- Click Share on the context menu.
- Share with others option will appear.
- Under People, enter the email address(es) you want to share the files or folders with. To add more than one recipient click on Add more people.
- Click send.

Publishing a file
Publishing a file on the web enables anyone to view your content.To publish a file follow the instructions below.
- Open a file in Docs, Sheets or Slides.
- Click on File at the top left of the window. A context menu will open.
- Click Publish to the web.
- The Publish to the web menu will appear.
- Click Publish.
- Send to URL to anyone you would like to view the file.
Get a Sharable Link to a Drive File or Folder
A Sharable link allows users to share the link with others. To get a shareable link follow the steps given below.
- Right click on the file you wish to share. A context menu with open.
- Click on Get sharable link. A pop-up menu will appear.
- Turn on Link Sharing and the link will appear.

Deleting Drive Files or Folders
To delete a file or folder you can move in into your trash and it can be recovered in the future if need be. Your file will stay there until you empty your trash and delete it forever. To delete a file follow the given instructions.
Delete a single file:
- Home the home page, right click on the file or folder you wish to delete. A context menu will appear.
- Click Remove on the context menu.
Delete multiple files: following are two ways to delete multiple files.
- To delete files that are in consecutive order click on a file you wish to delete and hold down the Shift key while you select another file. The files between those two files will also be selected.
a. After selecting the desired files click the trash icon on the top right of the window.
2. Drag the mouse pointer around the files to create a selection.

Recovering Drive Files and Folders
- Click Trash on the Google Drive Home Screen. The Trash page will open.
- Right click on the file you want to recover. A context menu will appear.
- Click Restore on the context menu to recover your file.
