Instead of directly editing files in Google Docs, users can make edits in the form of Suggestions. To be able to make suggestions the users should be given Access Permissions to either Edit or Comment on the file. For more information on Access Permissions see: Create and share a Google Doc.
Follow the steps given below to make suggestions on a Google Docs.
- Go to drive.google.com and sign into your Beloit account.
- Locate the file where you want to make suggestions.
- Click on the Edit (Pencil) icon on the top right section of the screen.
- Select Suggesting on the context menu.
- Edit the document like you normally would.
- The edits will be highlighted in the color green and appear on the suggestion box on the margin.
- Other members will be notified about the suggestions made.
- They can either accept or reject it.
- To accept a suggestion, click on the Check Mark on the Suggestion Box. Once you accept suggestions, they will be incorporated into the document.
- To reject a suggestion, click on the Cross Mark (X) on the Suggestion box. Once you reject suggestions, they will be removed.
