Google Drive
Overview
Google Drive is an online file storage, productivity, collaboration and file synchronization platform developed by Google. Google Drive also encompasses Google's office productivity suite of Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, Drawings and Sites. Files and projects created in Google productivity applications are automatically stored in the users' Google Drive, and Google also allows users to upload other files to their Drive. Beloit College's G Suite Apps for Education domain allows campus users unlimited storage on Google Drive.
In addition to online access through a web browser, Google also has two applications that allow a user to access and sync their Google Drive files for local and/or offline editing on a personal computer. The Google Drive app allows users to access and edit files stored in your Google Drive on-demand via file streaming. Google Drive Backup and Sync allows users to backup local computer folders to their Google Drive, and sync drive files to their local computer when there is an active internet connection. LITS encourages the use of the Google Drive app for campus users.
