Printing in Color (Lexmark)
Overview
Of the different model Lexmark printers on campus, the XC2235 model is the only one capable of printing in color. In an attempt to reduce the amount of unnecessary color toner usage, these printers are configured to automatically print in black and white by default. To print in color instead, please follow these steps:
Printing in color on a Mac
Choose Print from the menu of the application you are using.
Select your Lexmark XC2235 printer.
If printing from Google Chrome, click More Settings and then click the Print using system dialog option from the Print options panel.
Click the Layout dropdown in the center of the Print dialog and change it to Color.
Under the Color tab, change the Color Mode dropdown to Color
Choose Print.
Printing in color on Windows
Choose Print from the menu of the application you’re using.
Select your Lexmark XC2235 printer.
If printing from Google Chrome, change the Color dropdown box to Color, then choose Print.
If your document still does not print in color, repeat steps 1 and 2, but then click More Settings and then click the Print using system dialog option.
On the Print dialog window, ensure your Lexmark XC2235 printer is selected and click Preferences.
Click the Quality tab.
Uncheck the box labeled Print in black and white and click OK.
Click Print.
Note: To return to black and white printing by default, you will need to follow these instructions but re-check the box in step 5.
