Overview

After you move your  files and folders into a team drive, all ownership is transferred over to the team drive folder as well. Those files and folders will no longer appear in your personal Google Drive. They'll be owned by the institution.

Team Drives is a mutual space within Google Drive where groups can without much difficulty access, store and find  their data anytime from any device. Majority of the features in Team Drives are similar to that in My Drive. However, unlike the files in My Drive, the ones in Team Drive do not have a sole owner. They are collectively owned by the team. Even if some members of the group leave, the files do not move or get deleted. The other members still have full access and can continue working with the files. Team Drive is a great resource to use if you would like to continue accessing students' work beyond graduation.
