Wright Logan Room


The Logan Room is an Art and Art History teaching space located on the second floor of the Wright Museum of Art. Instructional technology available in this space includes a ceiling-mounted data/video projector, permanent wall-mounted projection screen, DVD/VCR, document camera, wall-mounted speakers, Windows PC, and connections for laptop and audio.  

The information below documents how to accomplish common tasks with the a/v equipment in the room.

  • No food or drink permitted.

  • Notify Security x2355 for access on evenings and weekends.

Projecting the built-in computer


  1. Press the On button on the wall-mounted Extron a/v controller to activate the room a/v system.

  2. Once the projector activates, press the PC button on the Extron controller.

  3. Turn the computer ON using the Power button of the unit.

  4. Additional controls:

    • The computer can be controlled using the mouse and keyboard in the a/v cabinet.

    • Audio level can be adjusted using the Volume knob on the Extron controller.

  5. When you are finished using the equipment, please power down all components and press the Off button on the Extron controller.

Extron a/v controller

Projecting from a laptop


  1. Connect the laptop VGA cable on the a/v cart to the VGA port on your laptop.

    • For audio, plug the 3.5mm audio cable into the headphone/audio out port on your laptop.

  2. Press the On button on the wall-mounted Extron a/v controller to activate the room a/v system.

  3. Once the projector activates, press the Laptop button on the Extron controller.

  4. Press the Power button to boot up the laptop.

  5. Press the Power button on the AVerMedia document camera. 

  6. If the document camera is displayed, then press the PC button on the document camera to switch from the document camera view to the laptop view.

  7. Audio level can be adjusted using the Volume knob on the Extron controller.

  8. When you are finished using the equipment, please power down all components and press the Off button on the Extron controller.



Projecting the built-in document camera


  1. Press the On button on the Extron a/v controller (wall-mounted) to activate the room a/v system.

  2. Once the projector is up, press the Laptop (Doc Cam) button on the Extron controller.

  3. Press the Power button on the AVerMedia document camera. 

  4. Press the Camera button on the top of the document camera.

  5. Camera image controls:

    • The Zoom +/- buttons on the control pad control the zoom level of the camera.

    • The Focus dial on the head of the document camera controls the camera focus.

    • The Freeze button on the control pad will freeze the current image.

    • There is an LED lamp switch on the head of the document camera.

  6. When you are finished using the equipment, please power down all components and press the Off button on the Extron controller.

Projecting the built-in DVD/VCR


  1. Press the On button on the wall-mounted Extron a/v controller to activate the room a/v system.

  2. Turn the DVD/VCR ON the Power button on the unit.

  3. Insert your VHS tape or DVD.

  4. Once the projector activates, press the DVD/VCR button on the Extron controller.

  5. Control the video using the menu and playback control buttons on the DVD/VCR remote.

  6. Audio level can be adjusted using the Volume knob on the Extron controller.

  7. When you are finished using the equipment, please power down all components and press the Off button on the Extron controller.
