Overview


The My Drive interface is the home screen and default storage location when users open Google Drive. It contains the main depository for files that are uploaded to the Google Cloud.  From this window files and folders can be uploaded, created, shared with others, moved, and deleted. It contains three sub-headings namely Files, Folders, and Quick Access (which shows the latest files accessed).

Search Drive

The Search Drive is located on top of the My Drive window. It enable users to search for PDFs, Text documents, Spreadsheets, etc. On the right side of the Search Drive is a down arrow which allows users to make advanced search options. (For example, by location, date modified,etc.)

To change the layout of the page from Grid to List view or vice-versa click on the icon on the left side below Google Account.

View Details

To view details of files and folders or activity click on the icon on the right side below Google Account.

  • Details- allows users to view the details of the selected file or folder
  • Activity- shows the history of activities associated with the data stored on the Drive.

Settings

The setting icon is located on the top left side of the My Drive window. This feature enables users to make General changes (example- storage, language, density,etc). It also enables users to manage Google Applications and Notifications.
