You can create custom filters in Gmail to avoid unwanted emails and to keep your inbox organized. These instructions will help you create email filters. 

  1. Go to mail.google.com and sign into your Beloit account. 
  2. Click the Settings icon located on the right side of the screen below your Google account picture. Then select Settings. 
  3. Once you are in settings, click on the blue Filters and Blocked Messages tab. Then select Create a new filter, which will bring up a pop-up window. 
  4. Enter in the information for which you would like to filter. Then click Create filter with this search on the bottom left up the pop-up window. 
  5. Select what you would like to happen when a message that matches the search arrives.
  6. Click the blue Create Filter button to save your filter. 

You can have multiple filters. You can also choose to filter messages into categories and labels.
