Overview
HC 215 is a teaching space located on the second floor of the Hendricks Center for the Arts. Instructional technology available in this space includes a ceiling-mounted data/video projector, manual projection screen, Blu-Ray player, wall-mounted speakers, and connections for laptop, DVD/VCR and audio devices.

Projecting from a laptop
- Flip the touchscreen controller up and then connect one of the video cables (VGA or HDMI) from the cable cubby to the corresponding port on your laptop/device.
- If you need to be away from the a/v cabinet, there is also a long cable tether on the hook on the right side of the podium that may be used to hookup to the laptop/device. These cables are the Aux connections.
- For audio with VGA, plug the 3.5mm audio cable into the headphone/audio out port on your laptop/device.
- HDMI transmits both audio and video through the same cable, so the 3.5mm cable is not needed when utilizing HDMI.
- Press the On button on the touchscreen Crestron a/v controller to activate the room a/v system.
- Press the Power button to boot up the laptop/device.
- Select the source that you have the laptop plugged into - either VGA or HDMI.
- Each source has two locations. The Lectern location is the podium-top cable cubby and the Aux location is the cable tether on the hook on the right side of the podium.
- Once selected, the active source button will be change to white.
- Audio level can be adjusted using the Volume and Mute buttons on the right side of the control screen.
- Video Mute will shutter (blackout) the projector without turning it off.
- When finished using the equipment, please press the Off button and then press the Yes button on the confirmation screen to shutdown the a/v system.
- The system shutdown and projector cool-down process may take up to two minutes. The system will not be able to turn back on until the cool-down process has completed.

Projecting the built-in Blu-Ray player
- Press the On button on the Crestron touchscreen controller to activate the room a/v system.
- Press the Blu-Ray source button on the Crestron touchscreen controller.
- Press the Eject button on the Blu-Ray player (to the right of the disc tray) to open the tray and insert your disc.
- Press the Eject button again to close the disc tray and launch the disc.
- On the Crestron touchscreen controller, use the directional pad, menu, and playback controls on the Blu-Ray menu to navigate and control the disc content.
- Video Mute will shutter (blackout) the projector without turning it off.
- Audio level can be adjusted using the Volume Up/Down and Mute control on the right side of the control screen.
- The Subtitle button will cycle through the available subtitle options on the disc for onscreen display.
- When you are finished using the equipment:
- Press the Eject and remove your disc. Press the Eject button again to close the disc tray.
- Press the Back to Main Menu button.
- Press the projector Off button and then press the Yes button on the confirmation screen to shutdown the a/v system.
- The system shutdown and projector cool-down process may take up to two minutes. The system will not be able to turn back on until the cool-down process has completed.

Projecting the built-in document camera
- Press the On button on the touchscreen Crestron a/v controller to activate the room a/v system.
- Orient the document camera so that the controls are facing you.
- Lift the the camera arm for the doc cam up and to the right.
- Press the Doc Cam source button on the Crestron a/v controller.
- Once selected, the active source button will be change to white.
- Press the Power button on the document camera.
- The LED ring on the on the power button will glow BLUE when the doc cam is On.
- The LED ring on the power button will glow RED when the doc cam is Off.
- Verify that the HDMI source light is active. If it is not, then press the Source button on the document camera until the HDMI light is active.
- To control the image:
- If needed, there is an LED light in the camera head that can be activate with the Light button on the document camera controls.
- Camera zoom can be controlled using the Zoom +/- buttons on the document camera.
- Focus can adjusted using the Focus AF button on the document camera.
- The camera image brightness or darkness can be adjusted using the Brighten Image or Darken Image buttons on the document camera.
- When you are finished using the equipment:
- Press the Power button on the document camera to turn it off.
- Collapse the camera arm back into the body of the document camera.
- Press the Back to Main Menu button on the touchscreen controller.
- Press the projector Off button and then press the Yes button on the confirmation screen to shutdown the a/v system.
- The system shutdown and projector cool-down process may take up to two minutes. The system will not be able to turn back on until the cool-down process has completed.

Connecting and projecting from a DVD/VCR
- Press the On button on the touchscreen Crestron a/v controller to activate the room a/v system.
- Using the stereo RCA cable from the rack drawer, connect the output of the DVD/VCR (on the back of the player) to the RCA input ports on the front of the a/v cabinet.
- Yellow = Video
- Red = Audio right channel
- White = Audio left channel
- Press the Rack RCA source button.
- Once selected, the active source button will be change to white.
- Press the Power button on the DVD/VCR to turn it ON.
- Insert your VHS tape or DVD into the appropriate slot/tray on the player.
- Use the DVD/VCR remote control to navigate and control the tape or disc.
- Video Mute will shutter (blackout) the projector without turning it off.
- Audio level can be adjusted using the Volume and Mute control on the right side of the control screen.
- When you are finished using the equipment:
- Press the Back to Main Menu button on the touchscreen controller.
- Press the projector Off button and then press the Yes button on the confirmation screen to shutdown the a/v system.
- The system shutdown and projector cool-down process may take up to two minutes. The system will not be able to turn back on until the cool-down process has completed.
- Press the Power button on the DVD/VCR to turn it OFF.
- Disconnect the RCA cables from the a/v rack and the DVD/VCR.
- Return the DVD/VCR and the RCA cables to the appropriate storage area.

Connection and playback from a mobile device
- Connect the headphone output of the audio player to the 3.5mm audio port on the rack connections panel using a 3.5mm stereo audio cable from the rack drawer.
- Press the Rack Audio button on the Crestron touchscreen controller.
- Audio level can be adjusted using the Volume Up/Down and Mute buttons on the right side of the Crestron touchscreen.
- Make sure that the volume on the mobile device is at maximum to ensure that the system is getting the strongest possible audio signal.
- Control the audio playback using the controls on the device.
- When you are finished using the equipment:
- Press the Back to Main Menu button on the touchscreen controller.
- Press the projector Off button and then press the Yes button on the confirmation screen to shutdown the a/v system.
- The system shutdown and projector cool-down process may take up to two minutes. The system will not be able to turn back on until the cool-down process has completed.
- Return the 3.5mm audio cable to the rack drawer.
