The WAC202 classroom has a touchscreen a/v controller, wall-mounted data/video projector, wall-mounted speakers, ēno interactive whiteboard, connections for laptops and HD devices, and microphone ports for assistive listening devices.  The information below documents how to accomplish common tasks with the a/v equipment in the room.

1. Connect one of the video cables (VGA or HDMI) from the cable cubby to the corresponding port on your laptop/device.

   1. If you need to be away from the a/v cabinet, there is also a long cable tether on the hook on the left side of the podium that may be used to hookup to the laptop/device.

   2. Mac laptops and mobile devices may require a display adapter.

   3. For audio with VGA, plug the 3.5mm audio cable into the headphone/audio out port on your laptop/device.

2. Press the On button on the touchscreen Crestron a/v controller to activate the room a/v system.

3. Press the Power button to boot up the laptop/device.

4. Select the source that you have the laptop plugged into - either VGA or HDMI.

   1. The active source button will be change to white.

5. Audio level can be adjusted using the Volume buttons on the right side of the controller.

6. When you are finished using the equipment, please press the Off button and then Yes confirm to shut down the a/v system.

Note: Blu-Ray players are compatible with Blu-Ray discs, DVDs and audio CDs.

1. Press the On button on the touchscreen Crestron a/v controller to activate the room a/v system.
2. Wait while the system starts up.  This process can take up to two minutes.
3. If you are using a Non-U.S. formatted Blu-Ray, please follow the steps on page four to properly set the Blu-Ray Zone on the player before continuing to the next step.
4. Press the Blu-Ray source button.
   1. The active source button will be change to white.
   2. Press the Open/Close button on the Blu-Ray player to eject the tray and insert your Blu-Ray or DVD.
   3. Use the directional pad and play controls on the Blu-Ray menu to navigate and control the disc.
   4. Audio level can be adjusted using the Volume control on the right side of the Crestron touchscreen.
   5. The Subtitle button will cycle through the available subtitle options on the disc for onscreen display.
   6. When you are finished using the equipment:
      1. Eject your disc using the Open/Close button on the player.
      2. Press the Back to Main Menu button.
      3. Press the projector Off button to shutdown the system and select Yes on the confirmation screen.

The Blu-Ray player in this classroom is capable of playing DVD or Blu-Ray discs from any region of the world.

International DVD:

DVD regions are set automatically by the player, so just insert your disc and follow the directions on page three.

International Blu-Ray:

Switching Blu-Ray zones must be done using the remote control (top rack drawer in the podium).  Follow the directions below to switch between the different Blu-Ray zones:

1. Start with the Blu-Ray player Off.
   1. For Zone A, press 1 + Power.
   2. For Zone B, press 2 + Power.
   3. For Zone C, press 3 + Power.
2. Turn the player On.
3. Once you have set the Blu-Ray zone, insert your disc and follow the directions on page three.
4. Please remember to return the Blu-Ray remote to the top rack drawer in the podium once you are done using it. 

Troubleshooting

If you encounter a Blu-Ray Region Code Error, check the following settings:

• Go to Settings and make sure that Quick Start is set to Off.
• Go to Video Options and set the Last Memory option to Off.
• Repeat the Zone setting steps above.

1. Press the On button on the touchscreen Crestron a/v controller to activate the room a/v system.
2. Press the DVD/VCR source button.
   1. The active source button will be change to white.
3. Press the Power button on the front left side of the DVD/VCR to turn it ON.
4. Insert your VHS tape or DVD into the appropriate slot/tray on the player.
5. Use the Toshiba DVD/VCR remote control (located in the podium drawer) to navigate and control the cassette tape or disc.
6. Video Mute will shutter (blackout) the projector without turning it off.
7. Audio level can be adjusted using the Volume and Mute control on the right side of the control screen.
8. When you are finished using the equipment:
   1. Eject your media using the Open/Close button on the player.
   2. Press the Back to Main Menu button on the touchscreen controller.
   3. Press the projector Off button and then press the Yes button on the confirmation screen to shutdown the a/v system.
   4. Press the Power button on the DVD/VCR to turn it OFF.

1. Press the On button on the touchscreen Crestron a/v controller to activate the room a/v system.
2. Orient the document camera so that the controls are facing you.
3. Lift the the camera arm for the doc cam up and to the right.
4. Press the Doc Cam source button on the Crestron a/v controller.
   1. The active source button will be change to white.
5. Press the Power button on the document camera.
   1. The LED ring on the on the power button will glow BLUE when the doc cam is On.
   2. The LED ring on the power button will glow RED when the doc cam is Off.
6. Be sure that the HDMI light is active.  If it is not, then press the Source button on the document camera until the HDMI light is active.
7. If needed, there is an LED light in the camera head that can be activate with the Light button on the document camera controls.
8. Camera zoom can be controlled using the Zoom +/- buttons on the document camera.
9. Focus can adjusted using the Focus AF button on the document camera.
10. The camera image brightness or darkness can be adjusted using the Brighten Image or Darken Image buttons on the document camera.
11. When you are finished using the equipment, please press the Power button to turn off the document camera, and the Off button on the Crestron touchscreen to shutdown the a/v system.

ēno interactive whiteboards provide cordless interactivity with a computer using the Bluetooth-enabled ēno stylus. While the computer is projected onto the ēno interactive whiteboard, use the stylus to:

• enhance presentations by enabling interaction and collaboration
• navigate through documents, presentations, or websites from the whiteboard
• write, highlight, and erase notes
• print and save your work

ēno interactive whiteboards are made from ceramicsteel so you can also use them with dry-erase markers and magnets as well as the stylus.

Instructional Technology staff are happy to train anyone on the use of the ēno interactive whiteboard.  During the session we will install the required software, pair the stylus with your computer and provide instruction on using the system. We invite anyone to request training on this system. Please contact Jedidiah Rex or Adam Dinnes to schedule a training session. 

The ēno receiver connects to your computer’s USB port and pairs the Bluetooth signal with the ēno stylus. You can pair up to three ēno styli to one ēno receiver.

1. Power On your computer and assure that the ēno App version 3.0 or higher has already been installed. This software will be installed on your machine during the required training session..
2. Connect the ēno receiver to a USB port on the your computer.                                           
3. Power On the ēno stylus by removing the cap.
4. Wait for the stylus LED to blink green once every three seconds.
5. Press and release the Pair button on the ēno receiver to pair the Bluetooth signal with the stylus.
   1. While the ēno receiver searches for the ēno stylus Bluetooth signal, a status message appears on the computer screen and the LED on the ēno receiver flashes green.
   2. If pairing is not successful, a status message appears on the computer screen.
   3. If pairing was not successful, you can try to resolve the problem by removing the ēno receiver from the USB port, waiting five seconds, and reinserting it before attempting the pairing process again.
   4. If pairing was not successful, refer to the Stylus LED status and troubleshooting section on page five.
   5. After pairing is successful (within 30 seconds), the status message on the computer screen indicates that ēno is ready to use and the ēno receiver LED changes to a solid blue color.

If the ēno receiver LED is Green and…

• Flashes five times after you attempted pairing, the stylus and the ēno receiver have been successfully paired.

• Flashes three times when you removed the stylus cap (after the stylus has been paired and the ēno App 3.0 or higher is running), the ēno stylus has successfully re-connected to your computer.

If the ēno receiver LED is Blue and...

• Is solid blue, the ēno App is communicating with the ēno receiver.

• Is flashing as you use the stylus, data is streaming from the ēno stylus to your computer successfully.

If the ēno receiver LED is Red and...

• Quickly flashes five times after you attempted pairing, the stylus and the ēno receiver have not been successfully paired. You need to start the pairing process over again.

• Flashes three times when you removed the stylus cap (after the ēno stylus has been paired and the ēno App 3.0 or higher is running), the ēno stylus has not been successfully connected to your computer. You need to cap and uncap the stylus again.

• Is solid red, the ēno App is not updated to version 3.0 or higher, or the driver is not running. Launch the ēno App version 3.0 or higher on your computer and start the pairing process over again.

It may be necessary to calibrate the whiteboard with the computer desktop. This assures that the location the stylus tip touches the whiteboard exactly corresponds to the projected computer cursor and pen.                                                 

To calibrate the ēno whiteboard with the projected host computer:

1. Use the ēno stylus to tap the Calibrate icon on the ēno icon strip one time.                                               
2. Use the ēno stylus to tap each target projected on the whiteboard, following the instructions you see on the whiteboard.                                                            
3. When calibration is complete, you are ready to begin using the stylus to interact with the computer. 

To use the stylus as your mouse for controlling the host computer from the whiteboard:

• Tap the Mouse icon on the icon strip.

• Or tap the File icon on the icon strip.

While using the stylus in Mouse mode:

• To click, tap once.

• To double-click, tap twice rapidly. Be sure to tap twice without moving the stylus.

• To type, tap the Keyboard icon for access to your computer operating system on- screen keyboard. Refer to “Using the on-screen keyboard” on page 27 of the full User Guide.

• For a right-click (Windows) or control-click (Macintosh), tap and hold the stylus tip (without moving it) on the whiteboard for one second.

• To open the folder on your computer where you last saved an ēno snapshot file, tap the File icon.

• To pass the “back” or “forward” command to the active application, tap the Left or Right arrow icons.

• To pass the undo or redo command to the active application, tap the Undo or Redo icon.
