OER Commons Open Textbook Hub
These hubs are organized by discipline and searchable by providers. Both MIT and Carnegie Mellon are open textbook providers. Over 73,000 resources are available through the Commons.
MERLOT Collection
The MERLOT system provides access to curated online learning and support materials and content creation tools, led by an international community of educators, learners, and researchers. Created by the California State University System.
OpenStax
Currently has textbooks in Math, Science, Social Sciences, Humanities, and Business. Founded at Rice University.
MIT OpenCourseWare
Link will take you to an index of online textbooks included in MIT OpenCourseWare. Each link will take you to a resource page, some texts are open-licensed e-versions of print books. Others are self-published online books, or course notes which are so thorough they serve as an alternative to a traditional textbook.
Open Course Library
A collection of high quality, free-to-use courses that you can download and use for teaching. All content is stored in Google Docs making it easy to access, browse, and download. Created in partnership between the Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
