Overview
Several different model Canon printers are located across campus. The imageRUNNER ADVANCE 3525, 3530, 5035, and 5535 all support color printing. In an attempt to reduce the amount of unnecessary color toner usage, these printers are configured to automatically print in black and white by default. To print in color instead, please follow these steps:
Printing in color on a Mac
- Choose Print from the menu of the application you’re using.
- Select your Canon printer.
- If printing from Google Chrome, click the Print using system dialog option from the Print options panel.
- Click the Layout dropdown in the center of the Print dialog and change it to Quality.
- Under the Color Mode heading, change the Color Mode dropdown to Color.
- Click Print.
Note: You will need to select this setting each time you choose to print in color.
Printing in color on Windows
- Choose Print from the menu of the application you’re using.
- Select your Canon printer.
- If printing from Google Chrome, change the Color dropdown box to Color, then choose Print.
- If your document still does not print in color, repeat steps 1 and 2, but then click the Print using system dialog option.
- On the Print dialog window, ensure your Canon printer is selected and click Preferences.
- Under the Basic Settings tab, find the Color Mode dropdown box.
- Change the Color Mode option to Color and click OK.
- Click Print.
Note: To return to black and white printing by default, you will need to follow these instructions but re-check the box in step 5.
