Desktop Message Notifications

The Desktop Notifications feature in Gmail allows Beloit College Mail to display popup notifications on the user's desktop when a new email arrives. Follow the steps given below to enable Desktop Notifications

1. Open Gmail and click on the Settings icon located on the top right of the screen.
2. On the General Settings page scroll down to the section titled, Desktop Notifications. There are three possible options:
   • Select New mail notifications, to receive notifications on your desktop when any new message arrives in the inbox or primary tab. 
   • Select Important mail notifications, to receive notifications only when an important message arrives in your inbox.
   • Select Mail notifications off, to not receive any notifications on your desktop.
3. Click Save Changes at the bottom of the page.
