Enabling, Creating, and Assigning Tags
Overview
If you are an owner or manager of a Group, you can enable tags or categories and create additional tags to organize a group’s posts. Tags are also used to label Groups posts/messages with keywords. Owners and managers can create tags, and members can then use them to label posts.
Note: You can either enable tags or categories, not both at the same time.
Enable tags or categories
Follow the steps given below to enable tags or categories.
Navigate to your group in Google Groups.
Click on Manage located on the right side of the Group Title.
Click to expand Settings on the left side of the screen.
Then choose either Tags or Categories.
To switch from Tags to Categories, click Enable Categories.
To switch from Categories to Tags, click Enable Tags.
Click Save to enable tags or categories.

Create additional tags
Follow the steps given below to create additional tags.
In Google Groups, navigate to the group you want to add tags for.
Click on Manage in the upper right corner.
in the navigation menu on the left side of the screen, go to Settings > Tags.
In the Tag Suggestions section, type in the tag names you would like to add separated by commas, and then click the Add Tags button.
You can add as many tags as you would like.
Once you are finished adding tags, click the blue Save button on the top of the page.
Click the Back arrow in the upper left corner to return to the Group menu.

Assign keyword tags to a message
To assign keyword tags to a message:
Navigate to the message you want to assign a tag.
Click the Add Tags link in the upper left corner.
Type in the tag(s) you want to add to the message.
Multiple tags can be added to any message.
Click the Save Changes button.
Once tags have been added to messages, you can click on a tag to filter by that tag.
