If you pick up your handset and do not hear a dial tone, there are a couple of things you can try. First, check to make sure you are Hot Desked into your phone.
Hot Desking is another term for logging in. If you look in the upper left corner of the display and see a number that begins with a hashtag or pound sign (#) you are not logged in.
Follow the steps given below to Hot Desk in:
Follow the steps given below to Reboot your Phone.
Using the Navigation Wheel arrow to the right until you see the Restart icon on your phone display.
Find the Softkey labeled Select and press it. Alternately, you can press the center of the Navigation Wheel to select the menu option.
When asked if you want to restart the phone, press the Softkey labeled Restart.
Your phone should now reboot.
Note:The reboot process takes about 3-4 minutes. The phone will remember that you were logged in and restore you to that state.
After you have completed this process pick up the handset and listen for a dial tone.
If you do not have dial tone after following these steps, initiate a help desk ticket.
If you dial 9 to get an outside line and a 7 digit local number, you may get a fast busy signal, or a message saying the number is invalid.
For local calls, IP phone systems require you to dial the area code and the number - the full 10 digit number.
For long distance calls, you must dial 9 to get an outside line, 1, and then the full 10 digit extension.
