Connecting other devices
If your device won't connect to BCNet, some devices need to be manually registered in order to connect to the campus network. Such devices include: computers with wired ethernet ports, game consoles (Playstation, Xbox, Nintendo, etc.), streaming devices or TVs with streaming apps (Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire TV/Stick, Google Chromecast, etc.), Smart assistants (Amazon Echo, Google Home, etc.), Smart devices (wifi lights, smart home controllers, etc.). See the full article on Registering Your Computer/Device for detailed information on getting connected.
If your device connects to the wired network, you will need to register your device(s) once per academic year. Any device that only connects wirelessly does not need to be registered.
Note: Private wireless routers are not permitted on campus. Review our Private Wireless Router Configuration and Policy page for more information.
While we do our best to support a variety of devices, there may be some that we cannot support. At this time, LITS is only aware of Chromecast not working on our network. If you believe there is another model device that will not connect to the campus network or if you need assistance with wireless connections, please contact IT Support.
