Overview
HC 105 Dance Studio One is a teaching, rehearsal, performance, and event space located on the first floor of the Hendricks Center for the Arts. Technology available in this space includes a ceiling-mounted data/video projector, wall-mounted speakers, a control room with a/v cabinet rack including a Blu-Ray player, performance lighting, and connections for microphone, laptop and audio devices, as well as an audio output for a portable assistive listening system (ALS).

Projecting from a laptop
- Connect the laptop VGA cable from the connections panel on the mirrored wall to the VGA port on your laptop.
- Mac laptops and mobile devices will require a display adapter.
- IT Support maintains a small stock of adapters for Mac laptops that can be reserved for classes or events by calling x2067 or emailing itsupport@beloit.edu.
- For audio, plug the 3.5mm PC audio cable from the connections panel on the mirror wall into the headphone/audio out port on your laptop.
- In the a/v room, flip the Main Power switch on the Furman power sequencer in the a/v rack to the On position to power up the components in the a/v cabinet.
- Press the Power button to boot up the laptop.
- Push the Power button on the Panasonic projector remote to activate the ceiling-mounted projector.
- Once the projector is up, press the PC button on the Extron switcher in the a/v cabinet.
- If the computer screen does not appear, press the Computer button on the projector remote until the Computer 1 input is selected.
- For audio, press the Power button on the left side of the Pioneer a/v receiver.
- Using the Input Select dial on the left side of the a/v receiver, turn the dial until it is set to the AUX input.
- Audio level can be adjusted using the Volume knob on the receiver.
- When you are finished using the equipment, please power down all components and flip the Main Power switch on the Furman power sequencer to the Off position.

Projecting the built-in Blu-Ray player
- Flip the Main Power switch on the Juice Goose power conditioner to the On position to power the components in the a/v cabinet.
- Push the Power button on the Panasonic projector remote to activate the ceiling-mounted projector.
- Once the projector is up, make sure that it is projecting from the Computer 1 input.
- Press the Blu-Ray button on the Extron switcher in the a/v cabinet.
- Turn the Blu-Ray player ON using the Power button on the top left of the unit or by pressing the Power button on the remote.
- Press the Open/Close button on the top right of the player or on the remote to eject the tray and insert your Blu-Ray or DVD.
- For audio, press the Power button on the left side of the Pioneer a/v receiver.
- Using the Input Select dial on the left side of the a/v receiver, turn the dial until it is set to the AUX input.
- Audio level can be adjusted using the Volume knob on the receiver.
- Control the video using the various buttons on the Blu-Ray remote.

Connecting and
Projectingprojecting from a VCR
- Connect the audio and video outputs of the VCR to the color-coded Video, Audio L and Audio R ports on the connections panel using a stereo RCA cable.
- Flip the Main Power switch on the Juice Goose power conditioner to the On position to power the components in the a/v cabinet.
- Push the Power button on the Panasonic projector remote to activate the ceiling-mounted projector.
- Once the projector is up, make sure that it is projecting from the Computer 1 input.
- Press the Video button on the Extron switcher in the a/v cabinet.
- Turn the VCR ON using the Power button on the unit or by pressing the Power button on the remote.
- Insert your videotape into the VCR.
- For audio, press the Power button on the left side of the Pioneer a/v receiver.
- Using the Input Select dial on the left side of the a/v receiver, turn the dial until it is set to the AUX input.
- Audio level can be adjusted using the Volume knob on the receiver.
- Control the video using the various buttons on the VCR, or on the VCR remote.
- When you are finished using the equipment, please power down all components and flip the Main Power switch on the Juice Goose to the Off position.
- Don’t forget to rewind and eject your tape!

Connection and
Playbackplayback from an audio device
- Connect the headphone output of the audio player to the iPod port on the connections panel using a 3.5mm stereo audio cable.
- Flip the Main Power switch on the Juice Goose power conditioner to the On position to power the components in the a/v cabinet.
- Press the iPod button on the Extron switcher in the a/v cabinet.
- Press the Power button on the left side of the Pioneer a/v receiver.
- Using the Input Select dial on the left side of the a/v receiver, turn the dial until it is set to the AUX input.
- Audio level can be adjusted using the Volume knob on the receiver.
- Make sure that the volume on the iPod is turned all of the way up, to ensure that the system is getting the strongest possible signal.
- Control the audio playback using the controls on the iPod.
- When you are finished using the equipment, please power down all components and flip the Main Power switch on the Juice Goose to the Off position.
